The game of Polo has been played on the National Mall for more than 100 years.

Building off of this 100+ year tradition, The District Cup (TDC) is an organization that hosts an annual charity Polo tournament on the National Mall to raise money to support educational and Polo scholarship opportunities for underserved youth from the greater Washington D.C. area.

Thousands of guests from around the world—including young professionals, Diplomats, Members of Congress, C-Suite executives, and more—gather on the National Mall to experience world-class horsemanship at a historic venue.

Our Charitable Initiatives

Over the last six years, The District Cup has donated over $200,000 to charities in the region that share TDC’s vision of transforming lives. The TDC Foundation also recognizes the transformative power of sports in shaping young peoples’ lives. TDC is committed to making the game of Polo accessible to more children by creating Polo Scholarships for underprivileged youth in the DMV region.

Our 2024 Charitable Partner: The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp

This year, TDC is honored to partner with The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp. Founded in 1988 by Paul Newman, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp provides “a different kind of healing” to thousands of children with serious illnesses and their family members annually, completely free of charge.

The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp will be opening a new facility located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 2025, providing a site for families in the greater Washington DC area impacted by serious illness, including those in the rare disease community.
